Closest Mario Kart 8 Game (and Switch) to Mountain West Schools
It has been said that the Mountain West conference is “At the Peak,” and to me, nothing illustrates that more, than the fact that there are 12 teams competing in the only NCAA Division 1 conference that sponsors e-sports. Of course, since the matches are played head-to-head, Boise State has an advantage because they tint the monitors blue, and play with all blue avatars; an advantage that is confirmed in their winning of League of Legends and Overwatch, but with the Spring season being cut, next year the Mountain West has announced that they will be playing Mario Kart 8, for the Nintendo Switch. Due to the large amounts of people in the Mountain West cities suddenly having $1200 burning a hole in their pocket, every store that sells Nintendo Switch has sold out of their allotment; yes, even, Amazon. So, thus the conundrum becomes: How can these players, prospects, and ordinary people practice in order to “git gud” as the gamers would say? Well, that’s where I come in. For, you see, since I am allowed out on the streets again, finally, due to both my prison sentence being cut short, and my work being determined to be “essential,” I had the time to scope out some places. Alas, while my cough and fever are not improving as much as I had hoped since I last got back from Italy, I did manage to find some time to visit all of the Mountain West cities in order to find the easiest place to get a Switch and Mario Kart 8 location. For simplicity’s sake, I am going by the football stadium since it’s a well-defined point in most locations – San José State fans, the football stadium is that big ovoid building at the corner of E Alma Ave, and S 7th St… It’s the place where the people aren’t on Saturday’s is September. Should you get hungry during your travels, I have also managed to find a some breakfast locations in the same vicinity
Okay, so I lied a little; I tried to get into the university, but, unfortunately the men with guns wouldn’t actually let me get beyond the gate on S Gate Rd, and I was still a little jet-lagged having just gotten in from Frankfurt after having woken up for my 0610 flight for the Linate to Frankfurt leg (stupid weather prevented the flight from Denver to ABQ, but my loss is your gain). So, while this may not be the closest, it certainly will fit the bill. Tyler-Jay Rowland who lives at 3075 Navigation Drive, in Colorado Springs was more than willing to help out, especially since his son, Jeremiah, was grounded for a month for staying out after curfew two weekends in a row. As the falcon flies, this location is 5.2 miles away; in a car, it’s not too much further than that.
Now, I don’t, technically, hate the way that Boise is laid out with the river running right through the center of town, but even though Maci Drew lives in the Clearwater Apartments, unit 323, which is in a straight line, only a quarter of a mile from the stadium, you will have to go the Exxtramile, to get to her apartment. Also, she would like me to point out, that times for a waitress like herself are a little rough, so please, if you’re hungry, skip Taco Bell, and eat at the Bar Gernika in downtown Boise, right next to the Central Plaza and Century Link Arena. “We have wifi” she said.
This is, by far, the most remarkable location; I had completely forgotten that they moved to an on-campus stadium, so I initially went to the Hughes Stadium location, and found a big pile of dirt. And not much else – well, if you exclude the trees that formed a nice line, that brought me back to my college days. Having corrected my too old Garmin in-car GPS, I found Tim Thatcher on 604 Balsam Ln; he’s a little deaf, so you might need to knock like you are ram-ing down the door. He bought the Switch after his wife of 35 years died to help him grieve and spend his retirement, “but it’s just making me too sad lately, and I’ve never been very good at vid’ya [sic] games. I still don’t know how I’m supposed to save the princess when she’s trying to beat me… That reminds me of my princess, who I lost last year. She was so kind, we met in high school, I had an onion on my belt as was the style in those days. They didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones.” I’ll be honest, at this point I started zoning out because, again, fever. He honestly looked really sad as I was talking to him, so you might want to try to cheer him up, since he’s just a lonely guy bein’ a dude. In a straight line distance, you’re only going .3 miles, and it’s not too much further by car.
This is by far the closest location to the stadium. The UNM Lobo Club is a non-essential business in the state of New Mexico, and UNM and the Athletics Department realized that funding would need to be cut dramatically throughout the state, and with the sweetheart deal they got from the legislature this year, they decided to close all athletic facilities, including the Maloof building, home of both Eddie Nuñez’s office, and the Lobo Club. I suggest using the side door closest to the field level entrance of the stadium. That’ll take you to the weight room; an alarm will go off, the code is “1892” the year the football team first played (interesting tidbit: the marching band was founded in 1889, the same year as the university); from there enter the main hallway, and go to the first door on the left after you pass the restrooms. The last time I was there, they had a vending machine that dispensed free Mountain Dew; I was howl-ing with laughter after I found that. Also, if you see Señor Manta, say “Hola!” he’s been down on his luck since his family were killed in the accident, and now he wanders the street like a lone Lobo.
It was like a bomb went off. No one was around; maybe they were busy playing Farmer, or having a bonfire out in the dirt behind the stadium, wit their brown-eyed girls, but Jeff Field’s dorm room, Aggie Village Community building 17, first floor, third window from the right (he leaves it unlocked, so don’t worry about access) has a Switch just sitting there on the bed, as though he borrowed it from someone, but never managed to return it before he left. Go on, take it, just say that it was yours and he left it, no one will check.
Cowboys and Cowgirls are just different, I guess; I could not find a Nintendo Switch in town for the life of me. I found many Switchblades, Light switches, and many wooden rods, so I took my horse down to Cheyenne, and found a recently laid-off Subway Sandwich Artist called Dom, who knew just where to look. He directed me to 803 West 21st St, Suite B. He told me, “yeah, the guy who runs this storefront, has a little son, about 6 years old. He keeps a Switch in his desk’s keyboard tray for when he picks his son up from school.” Because of the ordeal in Laramie, I asked him to clarify, and he did, “yeah… Nintendo switch.” He said as he looked around shiftily. If that doesn’t work you can always try Suite C, I heard they stock Switches… oh wait, not that kind.” I was going to ask him for more information, but he entered what looked like an abandoned brick building just passed the railroad tracks, “You didn’t see me,” he said. And I also didn’t hear the gunshots that went off as I walked back to my car.

Hawai’i is interesting because the Honolulu airport has a much better open air location than the El Paso airport; there’s a water path, it’s weird man, it reminds me a lot of the Tiki Room at Disn… oh, yeah, Hawai’i, Polynesia, that makes sense. Anyway, the stadium is home to the largest swap meet’s I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, I did not find any Switches, but I did find a guy swapping Macadamia Nut cookies for a few dollars, so naturally, I bought some. It started to rain, so even though many people are Rainbow Warriors or Wahine, as the women prefer to be called, I am not. I stopped in at the ‘Aeia Public Library for a spell, and my phone was dead, so I needed a place to charge for a bit. The nice librarian, Akela (“it means graceful,” I was told. After I asked, “like the wolf-spirit in Hindi myths?”), pointed out, that, “We loan out all sorts of stuff here; pots, pans, sewing machines. Believe it or not, we even rent out video game systems. Our most popular is probably the Nintendo Switch, but we also have a couple of Xbox’s and PS4’s.” I guess I looked very shocked because Akela continued, “with the military surrounding us, we, the library system, get a lot of goods from contractors who don’t want to have a lot of their goods shipped back to the mainland.” Seeing how much it cost to ship out, I completely understood, and bid ¬¬Akela aloha, and failed the Hawai’I test by passing out at the nearest Embassy Suites, in Kapolei, if I remember correctly (I probably don’t, I was tired).
A nice cow brought me to Clovis. Much like what happened in Las Vegas, it was not the cool one, but instead the one in California. She (I saw udders), brought me specifically to 264 Clovis Ave, and said, “what you seek, from my master, is in there.” I’m not sure if it was my fever, jet-lag, a combination of them, or something else entirely, but then the cow vanished as though she was just a thing on the internet. A stray puppy passed by me in downtown, so that was probably the highlight of the trip.
Look, I’ll be honest, Reno to me always makes me feel like I’m going to be leaving the city without one or both of my kidneys. I don’t know why I expect Renoirs to chew my body like a Pack of Wolves, but there you are. Diedre Thomas of 128 Keystone Ave, fell on hard times. She poured herself a glass of vodka, neat, and said, “you can have anything you want,” she paused briefly to wink at me, “for the right price.” I specifically enquired about the Switch, “Anything,” she replied. She pulled out what appeared to be a small glass bowl that looked like an incense holder, and a baggie of chalk dust, and… Oh my god, she was going to smoke cocaine. Anyway, as she pulled out the pulled out the baggie, I hastily took my leave. I then went to the airport and went to my next stop….
Nevada – Las Vegas
Can you believe parents still bring their children, like elementary school aged children to Las Vegas. And it’s not the cool Las Vegas, in New Mexico, it’s the one in Nevada; well, I guess, technically they bring their kids to Paradise, and not Las Vegas, but c’mon man, there isn’t that much difference. Anyway, head to the Excalibur hotels because Carla, the housekeeper said that on average 3 Switches get left by guests every day. I then felt really depressed while walking around the hotel, so I left to check out the Mirage, where I normally stay on these Mountain West trips. I also learned that if there’s one thing that freaks me out more than the throngs of people walking the Strip, it’s when there’s nobody around. Once the new stadium gets completed it will be vastly easier to get to the casino than at the current location.
San Diego State
I stayed with Dominic, at his house of Friars Road. I was starting to feel sick to my stomach with the lack of green chile, so it was so enjoyable to spend time with a fellow New Mexican (and my roommate junior year). He took me on a little tour: Balboa Park’s stadium (home of the former Harbor Bowl, and the first tie in UNM Football history), the USS Midway, and Ocean Beach. I had forgotten about the assignment until I looked down at my feet and found a working Switch. When it was still there after an hour, I borrowed a small boat, realised, I need a bigger boat and headed out to the Ocean. Having claimed rights, I then put it back, so you might also find it.
San José State
Look, there are a lot of people who depart from the San Jose Airport. The kids who travel on these flights are slightly scatter-brained because of the adrenaline of taking a plane ride (and passing through the checkpoint), and leave some of their electronics, and I found a shoe! A shoe! Who only puts one shoe on and then walks-off? It was an adult shoe, so it’s not like a child/toddleparent left it, no, someone made a conscious decision to leave their shoe… Maybe it was a protest? Anyway, just tell the guy that you left your Switch at the checkpoint, if he asks you what color it was say, it had yellow grips that slide off, but the screen was bounded by black.

Even if the stores are sold out of Switches, there are always places you can go to get them, some are definitely within walking distance of your house, maybe even right next door. If you do choose to do that, there are a few things to keep in mind: 1. Milk 2. Eggs, specifically from Natural Grocers, if they still have member pricing.
My sister is downtown hearing gunshots running for her life and there is no news coverage what the fuck is going on down there ROUTE 91 HARVEST FESTIVAL A video of the concert being interrupted by gunshots. 9:34AM 10/2/2017 MOVING EDITS UP HERE TO THE TOP. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A LOVED ONE: 1-866-535-5654 FAMILY REUNIFICATION CENTER: Metro Headquarters at 400 South MLK Blvd Building B Donate blood at United Blood Services at 6930 W Charleston or 601 Whitney Ranch Dr. PLEASE DONATE BLOOD. Confirmed info: One shooter , 64 year old man , shot from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay into the festival. He then turned the gun on himself after 10-15 minutes of shooting. He has 8-10+ rifles in the room with him. Man is from Mesquite (not Las Vegas) , Nevada , and is said to have operated alone. The alleged man with a rifle walking in the Bellagio employee entrance was CONFIRMED TRUE, it was a good Samaritan, trying to help, in the least helpful way. The man just had his guns on him , and took of to try and save lives. The thoughts were right, the process was not. Reports of gunfire from anywhere BUT the Mandalay Bay are false, all shots originated from the Mandalay. Again: Shooter acted alone, and it is believed his girlfriend was not involved. As of right now, 9:39am the casualties are 58 people killed, and 500+ injured, in the deadliest Mass Shooting in American history. There are plenty of videos of the gunfire, before during and after, however I do not feel the need to keep linking them here. Thank you everyone for your thoughts, prayers and compliments. I do not see myself a hero im just a 19 year old kid he needed his sister alive and home, though there were many REAL heroes on the strip last night, people assisting in loading the injured to hospitals, officers and LVMPD and LVPD came together to neutralize any threats, and save as many people as we could. This is a tragic day I will certainly never forget, and I urge everyone to fully read my live edits below, as even now as I look back through them, it still scares me to relive the panic I was in trying to locate my sister. I might reiterate my story and my sisters below, but don't count on it yet. There is a lot more to her story and I'm not fully willing to ask her if I can tell the whole world about it. Lastly, I'd like to comment on my lack of confirm able information: Anything I said was "CONFIRMED" was information I was hearing off the Police Scanner, or information off the news. Much of this was later unconfirmed, but during the live events I felt it was best to be posting ALL information from the event so that if anything was true, people would know where NOT to go. The Rifleman in Bellagio was true, and I didn't want anyone running there, even though the guy wasn't involved. I was doing my best to condense as much information as I could, and i was not totally accurate. To those saying: "don't post the live details of police" I really don't think if you're the shooter(s) in this event, the first thing you're doing is updating Reddit, but if youre being shot at, you might be checking Reddit for a "what the fuck where do i go whats going on" update. ( First gun shots were 10:08 PM. I believe this post was at 10:11 PM, it was posted before officers arrived, and before there was anything on the Scanners. In Depth Theory: Stephen Paddock wasn’t the Vegas shooter. He was offered money to stockpile guns for another criminal, and upon meeting at the hotel, was shot in the head and the criminal carried out the killing.
This is a theory I came up with three or four days after the shooting when the police were unable to find any motive whatsoever from Paddock. To this day, no motive has been ascribed to him. Here’s the theory.
Stephen Paddock is a well-off man who enjoys gambling. However, he’s always looking to make extra money to put down in Vegas.
In a casino, he’s propositioned by the Vegas shooter about buying guns. The Vegas shooter knows that he would never pass background checks to buy the needed guns for a shooting, due to a prior criminal record and/or the shooter isn’t planning on being caught.
The shooter offers Paddock a deal: Paddock, with his spotless criminal record, will stockpile guns. Paddock won’t have any trouble passing background checks as an older, wealthy man with nothing to hide. Plus, he’s already had some guns in the past.
During the collection, he kept in touch with the Vegas shooter with his computer.
To avoid suspicion by dealers, he bought guns from all across the Southwest. “He visited gun stores in Nevada, Utah, California and Texas, where he purchased rifles, pistols and shotguns.”
While amassing the stockpile, he decides to keep some for himself. He buys nine for his homes, which were later found in his houses in Mesquite and Verdi, Nevada, near Reno.
He also is buying rounds of ammunition and up to 50 pounds of these exploding targets, which he leaves in the car. It’s worth it, though, because he’s being offered a hefty sum by a gambler who made enough to pay him in Vegas.
Finally, on the day of the Vegas shooting, the Vegas shooter sends Paddock a message about meeting to collect the guns. Paddock agrees, and then the shooter tells Paddock to rent a room in the Mandalay Bay Hotel, preferably in an obscure, high floor to complete the transaction.
THE DAY OF THE SHOOTING
The Vegas shooter comes to the hotel to collect the guns from Paddock, or so Paddock thinks.
Paddock lets the shooter in and turns his back to walk to the guns laid out on the floor while telling him that he kept the explosives in the parking lot, as he didn’t want to accidentally set them off in a hotel. He’ll I’ve him then later.
As his back is turned, the shooter walks up to him and shoots him at point blank range. Although he would have liked to strangle or poison him to avoid noise, it wouldn’t fit if he were to frame him for suicide (keep reading).
Carefully, the shooter positions a gun on the ground as to make it seem like Paddock shot himself.
Next, he opens up Paddock’s computer and removes the hard drive.
Now alone with the guns, the Vegas shooter props open the window to the 32nd floor hotel room window and opens fire on the people below.
After feeling his window for escape is closing, the Vegas shooter stops firing and returns to where Paddock is lying dead in a framed suicide.
*Patting his pocket to check for the hard drive, the Vegas shooter slips away into a bathroom, where he hunkers down with his hands over his head and pretends to be hiding from gunfire. Later, he leaves the hotel as police find Paddock’s dead body surrounded by an arsenal of exhausted, heated, guns. —————— Largest evidence supporting the theory 1) Missing hard drive, not missing computer. You’d think that if Paddock acted alone and still wanted to dispose of the computer, he would’ve done so WITH the hard drive. Why would he carry around a hard drive-less computer? A person slipping away wouldn’t want to be carrying a computer, but a hard drive? That can be easily concealed. Regardless of this theory, the fact that Paddock would want to hide the hard drive is astounding evidence that he was in contact with others to plan the shooting. 2) Lack of a motive Why would a wealthy man, not indebted, never committing criminal acts, never showing signs of illness, quit life murdering en mass? It doesn’t check out and the police still can’t find anything. 3) Why would a shooter keep ammunition in the parking lot? Reports say that he kept explosives and ammunition in his car. Why would he do that if he was meaning to use ammo to shoot people from his room? 4) Why didn’t the shooter shoot the shooting targets in his car? If he were planning on shooting targets to explode, why didn’t he? The 50 pounds of explosives were found in his car, but not set off by gunfire. The only explanation I can think of is if the shooter didn’t know where the car was, because it wasn’t his. 4) Paddock was stockpiling for nearly a year. Wouldn’t he show symptoms of lunacy in that time if he was planning on indiscriminate mass killing? It want a spontaneous shooting, yet no one that knew Paddock reports him acting differently in any way. Unless he was a master at hiding his rage, paranoia, depression, what have you, then it would be because he wasn’t actually feeling those things. Biggest questions I would have about the theory 1) What about security camera footage? If the shooter entered the room, wouldn’t there be security camera footage of it? It’s a good question that I don’t know. 2) Why did the shooter keep more guns for himself in this Reno homes? The shooter kept nine guns additional guns to add to the 14 he previously owned. Why would he keep guns in his home if he were planning on handing them out to the shooter? Again, it’s a valid question. My idea is that he, as a previously established gun fan, saw them and wanted them for himself as he was buying for the shooter, similarly to when you buy clothes for yourself when shopping for a present for someone else. ———————- NOTE: I’m not saying I believe this, but it’s the best alternative I can think of to the common theory that Paddock was deranged and shot them himself. Also, if you publish a murder mystery using these points, I expect at least a 5% cut ;)
A little background on us. I’m 35 my wife is 28. We aren’t major gamblers by any stretch, but we usually hit up a local casino maybe once a month, twice if we do good, and usually gambling about $100 a piece each time. We are both huge sports fans, especially college sports (Notre Dame). I’m a bit of a tightwad most of the time. The morning of April 2, 2016 I asked her if she wanted to marry me (both of us have been married once before), she said yes. I bought tickets that morning, didn’t tell anyone our plans and drove from South Bend Indiana area to Chicago O’Hare, and arrived in Vegas right around dark. The first couple of Hotels I tried for were booked, but we ended up finding a room at Planet Hollywood (which we spent all of about 4 hours in). We then flew out the next morning, spending a total of about 12 hours in Vegas. This time around, after finding out my kids would be with their mom over Spring Break, I decided to save up and actually plan a trip this time. We debated Florida, Canada, the Smokies, and ended up deciding on Vegas. Tuesday – March 27 We stayed the night at Blue Chip Casino (BOYD Gaming) in Michigan City Indiana (halfway to O’Hare). Both of us had comps for a free room and Buffet’s as well and about $75 worth of food credit that we had been saving for our Vegas trip. They also gave me a $25 gas card. We decided to gamble $100, and lost pretty quickly. After eating our “free buffets” we decided to go to bed, anticipating an early morning. Wednesday – March 28 Once we got to O’Hare, we went and checked our 1 bag in at the Spirit Airlines desk. Everything at Spirit is A la Carte, and I had paid for 1 checked bag, however the lady in front of me discovered that their checked bags cost even more if over 40lbs. I had gone with Spirit to save a buck, and overall the experience wasn’t terrible, but I’ve had much better experiences with other non-discount airlines. After arriving in Vegas, we rode the bus from the airport to the Rental Car facility, and in short time had our new car for the week. The nice lady at Payless tried selling me several extras, and I politely declined each of them. I’ve come to expect the sales pitch no matter what rental company I use, and overall my experience with these guys was very good. We ended up changing reservations last minute for our Hotel due to additional offers I received while at Blue Chip. After checking in at the Fremont (all 6 nights) we unpacked, stopped at IN & OUT Burger, and made a run to Wal-Mart for snacks and drinks. We then decided to go check out the Nuwu Dispensary, we were both very impressed with the selection, cleanliness, and friendliness of everyone we talked to there (we are novices at this lol). After making a “small” purchase, we decided to drive out to Mount Charleston for the evening and ended up catching the sunset before driving back into town. We spent the rest of the evening walking around Fremont Street mostly just people watching, before we grabbed a snack from the Café inside the Fremont and went back to our room for the night. The food was average at best, but the price was right, even if I hadn’t used my points. Thursday – March 29 We slept in until about 9:30, and slowly made our way over to the Hoover Dam. On our way to the Dam, we stopped at Sunset Station for their Brunch Buffet, and were really impressed, especially for the $7 price. After gambling a little and not winning we continued to the Dam. Waze had me going some crazy roads that I’d never taken before to get there, and took us about 3 times longer than I had ever remembered. After getting closer and seeing all of the traffic/road construction I now knew why. All of the lower parking lots were full, so we drove to the little gift shop on the Arizona side (I was surprised to see the road now ends here), got a couple of little souvenirs for our boys, and walked around a little bit before exploring Lake Meade a little and driving back to Fremont. After relaxing for a little bit we again decided to walk around Fremont Street and ended up getting Margaritas and Enchilada Nacho’s at Nachodaddy’s. I would highly recommend this place if you want a good drink and great nachos, we both loved it, and our bartenders were great. After walking back to the Fremont and going back and forth on winning/losing at the slot machines, my wife got a bonus feature on the machine she was playing, when I noticed a guy standing behind her watching. He looked really familiar, and after seeing “Deez Nuts” on the back of his jacket, I realized he was the youtube star from the Deez Nuts video. He posed for a picture with my wife and then went on his way. We gambled for a few hours and went to bed about even on the day. Friday – March 30 After grabbing coffee from Dunkin Donuts inside the Fremont, we decided to drive down to Primm, because my wife had never been to California. We stopped at the truck stop and decided against topping off on gas, due to the price being over $4/gallon. We walked around the shop, found some more souvenirs for the kids, and ate lunch at Qdoba. After driving around behind the outlet mall, I realized there wasn’t a sign saying welcome to California, so I hopped on I15 and continued South/West until she got to see her sign. We went a few exits and decided a trip all the way to Baker wasn’t worth the drive, so we turned around just past the giant solar farm on the right. In the stretch from about a mile outside of Primm to where we turned around, we passed probably a dozen of each Nevada State Police and California Highway Patrol, many of which were on motorcycles and all of which had at least 1 car pulled over. About the time we made it back into Vegas, my buddy’s flight from Washington DC had arrived (he’s getting ready to leave for Japan for the next 3 years) so we went and picked him up at his hotel (Hooters). My wife won some money on the “Vacation” machine in Hooters and we decided to go walk the strip, which wasn’t a bad walk at all. We ended up going through the MGM, across to the Aria/Monte Carlo area and decided all the bars were a bit too busy due to a Golden Knights game getting ready to start. We walked over to Excalibur and rode the monorail to Mandalay Bay. We spent the rest of the evening here, and I decided to bet on Notre Dame Women, which turned out to be a good bet. My buddy, being born in Connecticut bet on UConn and that pretty much set the tone for his luck the rest of his trip. My wife and I ended up getting a giant hot dog/pepsi combo for $3.99 at the Café inside the Fremont after returning, and it was a better bet than the Chinese food we had tried earlier in the week. Saturday – March 31 Another buddy of ours had moved to Vegas about 6 weeks ago, while his wife and kids are moving out there today. He called me late Saturday morning, and had us meet him out at the RV Dealership he works for. After getting a tour of their half million dollar Motorhomes (built here in Indiana), we hopped in his convertible and rode out to Red Rock Canyon. The line to get in was about 100 cars long, and it looked like they were only letting a few in every 15 minutes, so we drove out along that area and headed back a different way to the south side of town. The company he works for sponsors the Horse Arena at the South Point Casino, so we rode over, watched some of the show, and got the behind the scenes tour of the stalls, practice arena, and got to meet the horses/cowboys. We ended up spending most of the day at South Point, and we really enjoyed it, probably our favorite one on the “strip” so to speak. We ate dinner at Baja Miguel’s and all enjoyed our food. Later on Saturday night we rode back to downtown. My buddy that now lives in Vegas, took us to Container Park, which was really cool. After that we walked back down Fremont Street and I had bet earlier on Michigan beating Loyola in Men’s basketball. Another good choice, however I had to find a casino with a sports book that could cash me out. We ended up going to “The D” and really enjoyed the atmosphere/older machines. My wife ended up playing the old school Horse Racing Quarter Machine upstairs and stayed on it for quite a while. We ended up heading back to the Fremont, where we gambled the rest of our “$200 limit” for the day, and did pretty good. After several hours of gambling, we decided we were hungry, so we walked over to the Café at Binions, and were really impressed with what we had. Sunday – April 1 We ate the Breakfast Buffet at the Fremont (comped), took an Uber back to our rental car on the other side of town, picked our buddy up at Hooters and headed north to Zion National Park. A couple hours later we arrived and were somewhat surprised that it wasn’t completely packed. My buddy has a free pass (Military) so we saved $30 on the gate fee. We spent most of the day at Zion, climbing, hiking, and exploring, it was my 4th time there, but the first time for my wife and buddy, and while my wife isn’t a hiker like me, she really enjoyed it and mentioned that it was one of her top 3 things we did on our trip. On our way back to town we stopped at Casa Blanca in Mesquite for a few hours, we didn’t do any good, but enjoyed the change of pace from the Vegas casinos. Monday – April 2 We walked the strip again, and ate the brunch buffet at the Bellagio. It was really good, but if I hadn’t used the buy 1 get 1 free coupon I had, I wouldn’t have been quite as impressed. We walked around the strip some more, and ended up buying tickets to X-Country for my wife and I for the 10pm show at Harrah’s. The lady at the Box Office didn’t offer any discount, but when I asked about using my players card, she gave me a $10/ticket discount on the tickets. After that we drove across town to Sams Town (Boyd Gaming) and gambled for a few hours, I remembered a Steak House from several years back that I really enjoyed here, but we ended deciding against it for our anniversary meal. After going back to our hotel to change and shower, we ended up going to Viva Zapata’s (based on Reddit reviews). We weren’t disappointed! The food was amazing, the atmosphere even better, and the wait staff was the best! Our waiter asked what brought us out there, I told him it was our 2 year anniversary and we had flown in from Indiana to celebrate. We were enjoying the live Mariachi music, but started getting a little anxious as we were waiting on our bill (we wanted to get to Harrah’s by 9:30). A few minutes later here came the wait staff/musician to our table, put giant sombrero’s on us, gave us a couple of churros and each of us a shot of Tequila (no charge) while they sang us a song. I tipped them well and we were on our way to the show. My wife is a huge country music fan, and while I enjoy some of the older stuff, I’m more of a metalhead. I was pleasantly surprised at the price of our tickets, and for the money, the show wasn’t bad. 1 of the dancers really stood out from the rest though, but all in all it was a good experience. I wanted to go see Absinthe but found out they weren’t playing on Monday night. After our show we walked down to the Bellagio Fountains to see a show before heading back to the hotel. Tuesday – April 3 We spent most of the morning packing up from our 6 nights at the Fremont, I checked with the Casino host to see about possibly comping more than 2 of our nights, but she showed me where my score in their algorithm was only a 65, and needed to be 100 to qualify for more. I still only paid $165 for the 4 nights I had to pay for, which was more than fair in my opinion, considering how little time we actually spent in the room. We went to Hooters and gambled for about 20 minutes, winning a couple hundred dollars, then took my buddy to the airport. Our flight wasn’t until 6:30pm, so we drove back North and had to try another Reddit suggestion for our last meal in town. We ended up at Hamburger Hut as we love to eat wings, and although the location and building were a bit sketchy, we ordered hot wings, a hot dog, and chili fries, this was our favorite food of the trip. We also really enjoyed hanging with some of the locals while we ate lunch. After eating lunch we hit up Walmart by the airport to find some last minute souvenirs to take back home, and then returned our rental car and waited a few hours for our flight back home. What I would recommend Sight Seeing - Zion National Park, Red Rock Canyon, Lake Mead, Container Park (especially if you have kids) Food - Hamburger Hut, Viva Zapata’s, In & Out Burger, Nachodaddy, Hotdogs at South Point, Breakfast Buffet at Sunset Station, also saved a bunch of money by getting snacks and drinks for our room at the grocery store on day 1. Casinos – As a gambler, the ones off the Strip seemed to pay better, but the ones on the strip were much classier and had newer slots you can’t find elsewhere. My 3 favorite were the Fremont, The D, and South Point. My wife really enjoyed seeing the sights at the Bellagio, the Flamingo, and others on the Strip. No matter what, if you’re going to gamble, get a players card, it saved me a bunch of money. Transportation – If you like to do more than just stay in town and walk all week, I’d highly recommend getting a rental car like we did (about $200 for the week for a nice sized car), but if you don’t plan on going on long day trips like we did, UbeLyft would be great. Entertainment – XCountry at Harrahs wasn’t the top show I’ve ever seen, but 2 tickets for $80 something and a happy wife, I can’t complain at all. Watching all the entrepreneurs on Fremont Street as well as the stage shows for free was hard to beat, and any trip to Vegas should include the Bellagio Fountains, the Flamingo Habitat, and any other free entertainment you can find along the strip. What I wouldn’t recommend Airlines – don’t go with the budget airlines expecting to save a bunch of money if you plan on taking a bag with you, checked or carry on, prefer to pick your seats out in advance, or want to get a snack while flying. Food – While we didn’t really have any “bad” experiences, the café and Buffet at the Fremont were probably my least favorite, but I can’t complain because I didn’t have to pay for anything at either of them. Also I was looking forward to checking out Heart Attack Grill (based on Ducktales review), but they were packed and took Cash Only fyi. Sight Seeing – Fremont Street after dark really isn’t the place to take your small kids but be sure to take them to Container Park during the day, Hoover Dam (unless you go early), Red Rock Canyon scenic trail on a holiday weekend. Pawn Stars was packed and if you’ve seen it once, the excitement kind of wore off, and they apparently charge for parking now. I parked up the street for free and only had a short walk, but the people trying to push you to buy extras outside of the store really kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
Since Ol' Woody has been mentioned in several threads here of late I'm adding a story about him and a list of his tweets created by an exmo, Book of Mordor. The Tweets of Wilford Woodruff Introduction At the end of an artfully concealed passageway within the F (First Presidency's) Vault at Granite Mountain can be found a hidden trap door leading to a secret sub-basement. Using my special set of skills, I had navigated my way into this forgotten room. I passed by the Liahona, the Sword of Laban, what looked like a Jaredite-barge shining stone thingy, and the head of Shiz in a jar; these trifles were not the reason for my dangerous and clandestine visit. I found myself sweating and mopped my face with the nearby Title of Liberty. In the far corner of the sub-basement, I spotted an opening in the floor. Creeping over for a closer look, I beheld a spiral staircase winding endlessly down into the abyssal blackness. Eldritch symbols and unsettling images were engraved upon its cold steps, but I knew that I must descend, for the mysterious Fat Man had insisted there was no other way. My flashlight flickered and I hoped that I had inserted alkaline batteries instead of the cheap regular ones. At length, I arrived at the nethermost alcove below the mountain. And there! next to the casks of Amontillado I spied the prize and object of my search: a small locked wooden box. But not just any box, for it contained a priceless artifact. I promptly seized the box and got the hell out of there. Returning to my room at the Crystal Inn Hotel in Murray, I brought out the key which had proven so difficult to procure. If you can recall that one "Pirates" scene with Will Turner and a sleeping Davy Jones at the organ, you get the idea. But that tale I dare not relate in full. Suffice it to say that the telling would cause men to weep and women to giggle. My hand trembled as the key turned and the lock clicked open. I slowly raised the lid and at last gazed with wonder on that for which I had risked all. With my heart pounding, I removed it, and so I now hold...the Flash Drive of the Prophets. The Flash Drive of the Prophets! Naught but rumors and whispers can be heard about it from the wizened merchants who lurk in the dark recesses of City Creek Center. To think that I am now in possession of it is almost more than I can bear. But I must make haste, and share what I can of the supernal treasures stored on it. And so I present to you, dear readers, the Tweets of Wilford Woodruff. @Big_Ol_Woody - Getting dunked a mormon in a few. Button, ROFL!! 2:21 PM Ð 19 Aug 1877 I hear voices in the distance, shouts of "Oh, fetch!" coming closer. How did they find me so quickly? Into the night once more. Brethren, peace out. Again I have survived. The fools really ought to remove their sunglasses at night, but it seems to be against the rules. They left only the chauffeur to guard their car, a custom 2013 Bentley Mulsanne bearing the license plate "MONSON6." (How many does he have?) I dispatched the poor fellow using a can of Mountain Dew heavily laced with Ex-Lax, then drove away. I exited the interstate at Nephi, later abandoned the Bentley in Milford and have made my way to Minersville. I should be safe here. No one has ever visited this town. @Big_Ol_Woody - It's T-Jef by himself this time. Looks uncomfortable, says something about wants 2 marry #SallyHemings? WAYNE ALLYN ROOT=> The Vegas Massacre Exposé: What Really Happened?
What Really Happened in Vegas on October 1st? Was ISIS involved? By Wayne Allyn Root The Vegas Massacre is clearly the new “JFK Murder Conspiracy” updated for the 21st century. The whole story stinks to high heaven. It’s rancid. Clearly, our own government, FBI and Las Vegas police are involved in some sort of cover-up. The question is- what are they covering up? Las Vegas is my home. I have the top radio talk show in this town. Many dozens of Vegas residents have gotten in touch with me to give me their take on the Vegas Massacre. Included in that group has been MGM employees, top MGM executives, survivors of the worst mass shooting in US history, as well as law enforcement and retired homicide detectives. From my own gut instincts, investigation and these interviews with key players, I’ve pieced together this story. It’s not a pretty picture. Like any good detective, I have lots of working theories. A good detective doesn’t rule anything out. Maybe it really is as simple and clean as “Stephen Paddock did it, case closed.” But there are way too many unanswered questions, problems and mysteries with that storyline. So here are my “Top 20” nagging questions, inconsistencies and theories about the Vegas Massacre… #1) RAMBO. How did an overweight, out of shape, 60-year old, anonymous guy (on no one’s radar) with no military training and no military or law enforcement history become Rambo overnight? He carried out this plot with no help? Got hundreds of pounds of weapons to his room? He broke open a hurricane-strength 800- pound window? Set up sniper-type guns? Pulled off worst mass shooting in America’s history with no training, no help? Even though the one over-riding theme of every survivowitness I’ve spoken to, or heard from is…they saw or heard multiple shooters. Yet the FBI and Vegas police immediately discounted this theory. Why? #2) The Constantly Changing Timeline. Did guard Jesus Campos arrive before the shooting started, or after, or during? Why has the story changed so many times? Why can’t anyone get it straight? It’s telling how authorities finally settled on the one timeline most beneficial to MGM- the single biggest employer in a “company town” called Las Vegas. More on this under the Jesus Campos storyline. #3) The Police Homicide Division isn’t Investigating the worst mass shooting in U.S. history? FACT. I had guest on my Vegas radio show from a recently retired Vegas homicide detective. The detective reported that the Vegas Sheriff did NOT give the case to a division of 30+ experienced Vegas homicide detectives who deal with murder all day, every day. He gave the case to a short-handed division of Internal Affairs that investigates police officer’s accidental discharge of a weapon. Huh? The Sheriff gave the worst mass shooting in US history to a small division of five cops who have never investigated a homicide? Why? #4) The Vegas Sheriff. Sheriff Joe Lombardo. In the interests of full disclosure, I was a fan. I supported the Sheriff in his election. I feel he is in very tough position here. MGM is biggest employer in this town and a huge donor to his past and future campaigns. During press conferences, it’s clear Sheriff Lombardo is under restraint in what he can and cannot say. The Las Vegas FBI bureau chief stands right behind him in every press conference with a look that could kill. The FBI clearly doesn’t want Sheriff Lombardi to reveal much. Why? Since literally every Vegas Sheriff in history retires and goes to work as head of security for a large Vegas hotel for $250,000 per year (like MGM), and Vegas is a company town with MGM being the leading employer, and billions of dollars are on the line due to liability, insurance and tourism issues, it’s easy to see why the Vegas Sheriff is in tough spot. This might well explain the lack of information forthcoming from the LVMPD (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department). Everyone involved is in a difficult spot. #5) Where’s the video? Vegas has video cameras everywhere. After NYC terror attacks we had videos on TV within hours. In this case…in hotels covered by hundreds of videos…6 months later we’ve never seen one video of the killer walking through the hotel. Why? #6) The girlfriend. Marilou Danley just happened to fly to Philippines a few days before her boyfriend carried out worst mass shooting in US history? Really? Great timing for her. And she just happens to admit her fingerprints could be on the ammo? And she just happened to erase her Facebook profile within an hour of the shooting…even though no one had released the name of Stephen Paddock in the media. How did she know it was him? How did she know to erase her FB page? Oh, and the Philippines just happens to be a ISIS Islamic terror hotspot. And Paddock just happened to wire her $100,000 in the Philippines days before the massacre. And Paddock just happened to have child porn on his computer. And ISIS is known to make money through child sex trafficking and child slavery. More on this “child porn” connection later. #7) Money laundering. Paddock had no obvious huge income stream. Paddock himself bragged that he was “one of the biggest High Roller video poker players in America.” Really? He lived in a $300,000 home in Mesquite, Nevada. That’s as middle class as you get. No one in his neighborhood could afford to gamble millions of dollars on video poker. Sounds a lot like money laundering to me. What better way to mask money laundering than running millions through a Vegas casino. Who money launders? Terror groups like ISIS. #8) Rich or “Heavily in Debt?” First, we were told by the media that Paddock was “rich” and “a huge High Roller.” Of late, the Vegas Sheriff changed the story to “he was heavily in debt and may have had a grudge against casino for heavy losses.” Which one is it? Why does the story keep changing? Paddock left an estate of about $5 million. Why would he be angry at MGM over a few losses in the past year? How was his $5 million fortune earned? Money laundering still fits the puzzle. Perhaps he made partners along the way with ISIS? #9) Paddock Paid Off His Marker? This has NEVER been mentioned in the media once. I got this inside scoop directly from Paddock’s longtime Mandalay Bay casino host. Paddock owed MGM $100,000. On Friday night before the massacre Paddock won $100,000 playing video poker. If he was planning to die on Sunday he certainly would have blown it on hookers and cocaine. Or bought a Maserati and had it shipped to his girlfriend. Or gambled even higher amounts with the $100,000. But that’s not what Paddock did. Instead he took the $100K and paid off his $100K MGM marker. He paid off his debt in full? Why would a crazed killer do something so responsible? Why would a suicidal man do that? He wouldn’t. This was a man expecting to come back to MGM to enjoy many future free High Roller suites (provided by MGM). He clearly wanted MGM to keep giving him VIP treatment. This was not a man planning on mass murder and suicide within 48 hours. #10) Child porn. Police say they found child porn on Paddock’s computer. But it was announced after the shooting, Paddock’s hard drive was gone. Removed from his computer. Nowhere to be found. So how did police find child porn? Not one journalist questioned this development. No one ever asked, “Did the hard drive miraculous re-appear?” Police never said a thing. First it was gone. Then they found child porn. Strange. But if in fact child porn was found (on another computer removed from his home, or office) wouldn’t it make sense to investigate the connection to ISIS and the Philippines, where child sex trafficking is a primary mode of funding for Islamic terror groups? #11) Every single witness from that concert that I spoke to, or heard, claimed there were multiple shooters. Some swore they saw multiple shooters. Some say they were being fired at from different directions and levels. Yet police and FBI have ruled that out. So, all the witnesses are wrong? #12) Jesus Campos. The “hero” security guard. Did he show up before…during…or after the massacre? His timeline changed multiple times. Why? MGM coaching him on timeline to make their liability less severe? Why would the ONLY witness to worst mass shooting in US history be allowed to leave the country days later? Worse, HOW did he drive many hours to Mexico with a bullet hole in his leg…only days after being seriously wounded? He needed a cane to appear on “Ellen” a month later. Yet he was fine 3 days after being shot? Does any of this make sense? The amazing thing never mentioned by mainstream media was Ellen is not only a comedian, but she has multi-million-dollar partnership with MGM, with Ellen themed slot machines. So the only witness to the worst mass shooting in US history gave exactly one interview EVER. Ellen herself announced it would be his only interview ever. Yet it was arranged to be given exclusively to a comedian who is partners with MGM? Where has Jesus disappeared to since? Never seen again? Is he living in a penthouse of a MGM property somewhere in world with millions in bank, courtesy of MGM? FBI and police don’t find this odd? Top security execs at MGM called my radio show. All of them said they never heard the name Jesus Campos in their lives before the shooting. How is this possible? Was he even registered as a security guard with State of Nevada? Or with MGM? Friends of mine got into the MGM database and Campos name either was never there, or it was scrubbed from the system. Why? An investigative reporter friend of mine reports Campos name was never in the state of Nevada system. #13) Terrible & faulty security at MGM. I have written about this storyline in my Las Vegas newspaper column multiple times. Dozens of MGM employees have called my radio show, or emailed me, to tell me how terrible security was at all MGM properties. My newspaper columns lay out a condemnation of MGM and their pathetic CEO Jim Murren. See: https://www.reviewjournal.com/opinion/opinion-columns/wayne-allyn-root/commentary-guards-paint-an-eye-opening-picture-of-mgm-security-policies/ Murren slashed the budget for security…fired experienced guards…hired part time guys with no experience our training…he made the properties a gun free zone…had inferior walkie-talkies with dead zones all over the hotel…employees had no crisis training…no one was prepared…MGM had no rapid response SWAT team…Mandalay Bay changed guards at the exact same time each night: 10 PM- which is why the shooting started at that time when security was most disorganized…and worst of all…MGM let High Rollers use freight elevators with no security present, or questions asked. MGM guards called me to say they could NEVER question High Rollers about anything, or they’d be fired. So, no one ever asked Paddock a thing. Amazingly, nothing has changed. Today, months later, my spies report they got on a Mandalay Bay freight elevator and went up to infamous 32nd floor. No one stopped them. No one asked them a question. CEO Jim Murren is a pathetic, bleeding-heart, liberal who believes in donating MGM shareholder money to organizations like CAIR (called a Muslim terror front for Hamas by even Democrat US Senator Chuck Schumer) and The Southern Poverty Law Center (who puts Christians on “Hate Lists”). See two of my columns about MGM CEO Murren: COMMENTARY: MGM’s CEO risks angering many of his customers COMMENTARY: Sun publisher’s defense of Jim Murren comes up woefully short Murren should certainly be under scrutiny for his incompetence and lack of proper security at Mandalay Bay, yet the liberal-biased mainstream media has protected him. They’ve never aimed the cannon at him once. Why? Are liberals protecting a “fellow traveler?” #14) The mysterious stock sales patterns of Jim Murren and top MGM execs and Board of Directors in the days before the Vegas Massacre. See: COMMENTARY: More questions surrounding the Las Vegas Strip shooting Why hasn’t media reported this? Is anyone aware by pure chance/coincidence the CEO of MGM sold most of his MGM shares in the weeks leading up to the massacre…and so did his top executives and some of his top Board members. How strange is that timing? When does this EVER happen at a public company? I’ve never heard of a CEO of a public company selling off every share in his own company. What a complete lack of confidence. Does anyone think this is strange? Has anyone in the media ever asked the CEO about this? His eye was certainly not on the ball. Knowing all of this, it’s certainly not surprising that Paddock (or his partners in crime) chose a MGM property for the site of The Vegas Massacre. Why has his MGM Board kept him employed? He’s a CEO that sold most of his stock, then presided over the worst terror attack in US history. These issues don’t concern the MGM Board? Bizarre. #15) ISIS. Here’s the BILLION DOLLAR question no one wants to discuss. Why? Did the FBI miss an obvious sign again? Does MGM have serious insurance issues if this attack is declared “terrorism”? Is Las Vegas worried about tying ISIS to Vegas and hurting tourism? Yet the signs were clear that there could be a connection to ISIS from the start. First, ISIS promised in a video (covered in blood) in the Spring of 2017 to attack Vegas. See: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/isis-video-featuring-las-vegas-strip-viewed-credible-threat-article-1.3196042 Second, the Vegas Massacre had the M/O of several previous ISIS attacks. They seem to enjoy attacking concerts and hotels. See the Paris nightclub concert and Manchester Arianna Grande concert. Not to mention numerous hotels attacks throughout the world. But this never occurred to the FBI? And Paddock (or his partners in crime) just happened to pick a country music concert? A place filled with people hated by ISIS or any Islamic extremist group- whites, Christians, Trump-loving conservatives. Coincidence? But this never occurred to the FBI? Third, then ISIS took credit 4 times for the Vegas massacre. Never before in history has ISIS ever taken credit four times for any terror attack. The FBI immediately announced ISIS wasn’t involved. How strange is that? ISIS promised to attack Vegas. A hotel and concert was attacked. ISIS claimed credit four times. The FBI took five minutes to rule them out as suspects. The Islamic terror experts I interviewed on my radio show- to a man- all believed this had at least some Islamic terror fingerprints on it…all believed ISIS has to be (at the very least) a leading suspect… and all agreed ISIS does NOT have a history of taking credit for attacks they aren’t involved in. The ISIS experts I interviewed reported a false claim by ISIS only happened once- at a Philippines casino. And even that attack is in dispute. The Philippines government calls it a robbery. Many terror experts believe it was clearly ISIS coordinated. In history, ISIS has never taken credit for any attack four times. Still the FBI ruled them out almost instantly. Why? #16) Did CEO Murren & MGM pay for a terrorism insurance rider? This is just an educated guess. I called several insurance experts. All reported that typical insurance policies for billion dollar hotels don’t pay off for terror attacks. The company needs to purchase an expensive additional insurance rider specifically for terrorism. Yet MGM executives who have called me all claim that Murren is cheap and focused 24/7 on cutting costs. If MGM had no insurance rider for terrorism, they desperately need this attack to be classified as “murder by a madman” versus “terrorist attack.” It’s the difference between collecting a billion dollars (or more) from insurance…or nothing. Zero. Zip. Nada. This could be why police, FBI, MGM and everyone involved is so desperate to not mention terrorism. MGM is the world’s leading gaming company. Billions of dollars of stock investors, thousands of jobs and the economy of Las Vegas are all effected by the classification of this attack. I made this guess publicly for the first time on my radio show when interviewing an attorney representing 50 of the survivors. He was in Vegas that day for a meeting of all the attorneys from across the country involved in this case. He was shocked at my educated guess. He stated live on the radio that this was exactly what his fellow attorneys suspect. #17) The autopsies. The Las Vegas coroner refused to release the autopsies. The media had to sue to get information released. The media won and the Nevada Supreme Court ruled the information had to be released to the public. See: Nevada Supreme Court overturns Las Vegas shooting autopsies ruling Yet at that point, the Vegas police demanded $500,000 to release mountains of their info on the Vegas Massacre to the media. Once again, a Nevada judge had to rule they have no right to do that. See: https://legalinsurrection.com/2018/03/judge-rules-police-cant-charge-media-huge-fees-for-vegas-massacre-information/ Strange. Why are Vegas authorities so desperate to not release information on the Vegas Massacre to the public? #18) Trump. There is no biggest supporter or defender of President Trump than myself. I think he’s the greatest conservative president in U.S. history. But he’s been strangely silent on this high-profile incident. It’s not just any incident. It’s the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. Even liberal Trump-haters have to agree on these points. President Trump loves controversy. Right? He loves to weigh in on every crisis or controversial issue, right? He doesn’t care if he offends anyone, right? He loves to dominate headlines, right? Don’t all liberals agree about that? But the President has mysteriously steered clear of this story. NEVER a peep from Trump about his theories on The Vegas Massacre. Nothing. Nada. Zero. Crickets. In the almost 6 months since this terrible event, the President has never said a word…no theory…never ventured even a guess. Isn’t that strange? Out of character? #19) To sum it all up… We’re almost at the 6-month mark. And we know as little now as the day after the massacre. How can this be? After every other mass shooting we know everything within hours. With this one, the most-high profile mass shooting in U.S. history, we know NOTHING. Zero. We’re completely in the dark. Don’t you find this strange? But I’m not done yet… I’ve saved the best for last. Drumroll please… #20) Now here’s my biggest theory/mystery of all… The Timeline: A working theory of mine. A highly suspicious/mysterious timeline, almost impossible it could be a coincidence… October 1- Vegas Massacre October 25-29- Just days after Vegas Massacre, President Trump’s son-in- law Jared Kushner makes secret unannounced trip to Saudi Arabia- as per “Politico.” Purpose? As announced by Politico- “President Trump is asking for Saudi Arabia’s help in “combating terror financing.” Media reporting on what they termed a “secret trip.” https://www.politico.com/story/2017/10/29/jared-kushner-saudi-arabia-244291 https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/jared-kushner-took-secret-trip-to-saudi-arabia-report/article/2638933 http://www.newsweek.com/jared-kushner-trump-officials-made-secret-visit-saudi-arabia-695859 November 5- Only days later, the roundup begins by the King of Saudi Arabia and his security forces- they arrest, detain, interrogate and TORTURE over 300 billionaire Saudi Princes. These are the most wealthy and powerful men in Saudi Arabia. Why? Why does this happen only days after a last-minute, secret visit by Trump’s son-in-law with an urgent diplomatic message from President Trump? See media reports: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5108651/American-mercenaries-torturing-Saudi-princes.html https://www.globalresearch.ca/american-mercenaries-torturing-saudi-elites-rounded-up-by-crown-prince-blackwater-is-allegedly-involved/5619654 http://www.middleeasteye.net/news/exclusive-senior-figures-tortured-and-beaten-saudi-purge-1489501498 Even more remarkable of a “coincidence”… One specific Saudi prince who was arrested and tortured was Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, who just happens to be the owner of Four Seasons hotel- on the top floors of Mandalay Bay. Read a story on his torture: https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-11-23/alwaleed-bin-talal-hung-upside-down-and-beaten-us-mercenaries See CNBC story on the arrest. CNBC compared it to arresting Bill Gates or Warren Buffett in the USA. See: https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/06/saudi-crackdown-would-be-like-the-us-arresting-warren-buffett.html That specific Prince was then transferred to highest security prison in Saudi Arabia to be tortured. See comments from his business partner Bill Gates about the arrest: https://www.albawaba.com/business/bill-gates-alwaleed-bin-talal-1054336 Civil Rights groups announced to the media how worried they were about the billionaire prince. See: https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/saudi-arabia-alwaleed-prison-human-rights/2018/01/17/id/837776/ This doesn’t seem more than a little strange? Could the timing of all of this be just a little coincidence? A prince worth $15 to $20 billion…partners with Bill Gates in owning the Las Vegas Four Seasons…just happens to be arrested, tortured and imprisoned in highest security prison in Saudi Arabia? All happening within days after Vegas Massacre, which happened to occur literally on his property (just floors below his hotel). Meanwhile President Trump- who loves chaos, crisis and controversy- is strangely silent. Not one word about the Vegas Massacre in 6 months. All a coincidence? Or was the Vegas Massacre some kind of international incident involving Islamic terror cells either coming from Saudi Arabia…or financed by Saudi billionaire princes sympathetic to the ISIS cause? Were these 300+ arrests of billionaire princes by the new King of Saudi Arabia within days of getting an urgent diplomatic message from President Trump just a coincidence? Or was all of this based on what happened in Vegas? Have I put 2 + 2 together? Certainly, this storyline and timeline is worth exploring and asking questions. The mainstream media has never said a word. Crickets. Asleep at the switch. As wild as all of these questions and scenarios are, they make far more sense than the story we’ve been told by FBI, police and our government. The scenario I’ve laid out makes far more sense than the fact that we know nothing about the worst mass shooting 6 months after the fact. We know nothing about the shooter, or his motive. There are no videos. There was no suicide note. A 60-year old overweight nobody, with no military or law enforcement experience, became Rambo overnight, and without help, pulled off the worst mass shooting in US history? If you believe that story, I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn. Was ISIS involved? Did the shooting involve Saudi Arabia, or the financing of some kind of terror cell by radical Saudi princes? Did Paddock act alone? Did MGM have the necessary terrorism insurance rider in place? Who the heck is Jesus Campos? Why is the FBI appear missing in action? Why are Vegas authorities so desperate to keep information out of the public’s hands? These are all questions that need to be asked. The big question is… Why is no one asking them? MGM finally releases security video showing LAS VEGAS Shooter's movements

Hotel Releases Video Of Las Vegas Shooter In Days Leading To Massacre : The Two-Way Stephen Paddock, the 64-year-old retired accountant and real estate investor, looks like an ordinary hotel guest and casino patron in footage released by the Mandalay Bay resort. Stephen Paddock, the man who rained bullets down on a crowd of concertgoers last October, killing 58 people, appears in newly released surveillance video to be an ordinary hotel guest and casino patron in the days leading to the massacre. Video and stills provided by MGM Resorts International of the Mandalay Bay resort where Paddock stayed shows him checking in at the hotel lobby, escorted by a valet and gambling in the casino. Records show that Paddock made several trips between one of his homes, in Mesquite, Nevada, to the hotel, apparently to transport the weapons. "In the interest of providing greater context around Stephen Paddock's actions in the days leading up to October 1, MGM Resorts has released these security videos and images," MGM said in a statement accompanying the release of the images. In addition to the 58 he killed, Paddock, a 64-year-old retired accountant and real-estate investor, wounded hundreds before police reached his room and fatally shot him.
Las Vegas mass shooting: what, why, and how to prevent them in the future (opinion)
news more news TLDR: On October 1, 2017, a mass shooting occurred at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. A gunman opened fire on the outdoor festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and casino across Las Vegas Boulevard during the closing performance by singer Jason Aldean. The shooter was identified as 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock of Mesquite, Nevada. He was found dead in his hotel room with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The incident surpassed the 2016 Orlando nightclub shooting as the deadliest mass shooting by a lone gunman in U.S. history, with at least 60 fatalities (including the perpetrator) and 527 injuries. (wikipedia) Before starting off, I would like say this is strictly just an opinion and an attempt to share my thoughts, not a political endorsement. This awful, inhuman act of cowardice has caused a lot of heated debate, some people discussing how these things could be prevented in the future, some how these discussed ways will not work. This issue has yet again caused great divide between both sides of the political spectrum. Others calling for gun control, some for more guns, some for no changes at all. In these days the importance of neutral political speech needs to be emphasized so that changes can be made. It's not a secret that the US has a problem with mass shootings a source, can be taken with a grain of salt, each of their own and changes are really actually needed. You could argue that US has lower death rates from mass shootings than for example Norway (just and only because of the Breivik case) but sources claiming this are usually not very trustworthy, such as crimeresearch. This particular crimeresearch.org website is rated right bias in media bias/fact check website and its founder John Lott has a lot of controversy related to for example accepting bribery from NRA. Due to the bad reputation of that media bias/fact check website among conservatives, I felt that adding the Wikipedia link was further emphasizing how the crimeresearch.org website really isn't that viable source of information. The motive behind the incident is still unknown and no connection to any terrorist organization has been found, but it's most likely related to mental illness, that's for quite sure. So, the question is: how the person bought the guns? Legally. The guy had a clean background and passed all the checks. However, he was using a modded semi-automatic rifle that was altered to shoot like a full automatic. That being said, only a total gun ban would have prevent this from happening at that point. But as we all know, that's really not an option in the United States, so many people are against it. So how exactly are we supposed to prevent these from happening while maintaining the right of 2nd amendment for the people who really know how to responsibly take care of a gun and are not mentally ill? In my opinion, we need to take a look at Canada. That means gun control that allows an access for responsible people to own a gun. BUT in the current state of the US this wouldn't work. There are 100s of millions of guns in the US and they don't just disappear if a gun control is activated. This would require a huge government buy back program that would cost WAY too much, let alone the economical impact on the US gun industry. A short list of things preventing the US gun reform:
Too many guns for government to buy back
The voices of pro-gun politicians and individuals
Illegal guns coming across the border
Guns: a big part of the culture
So, this plan would require eliminating all of those factors as a whole, a lot of work, determination and time. ...too hard? Feel free to comment and share your opinion!
FBI chief in Nevada says motive behind Las Vegas concert massacre is still a mystery
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 53%. (I'm a bot)
FBI Special Agent in Charge Aaron Rouse told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Wednesday that investigators still couldn't say what made 64-year-old Stephen Paddock begin firing into a crowd of 22,000 at the Route 91 Harvest Festival on Oct. 1. Since the shooting, law enforcement officials have been largely quiet about Paddock's motives, and the lack of information has fueled several conspiracy theories in the nearly three months since the massacre. He outlined the efforts the agency had undertaken to try to discover a motive for Paddock, including interviewing 400 people about the gunman, using 400 specialists, and following up on 1,500 leads in Las Vegas and an 500 more worldwide. Rouse didn't address Paddock's penchant for gambling, but Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said in an 8 News interview about a month after the shooting that Paddock "Was going through some bouts of depression" and that the gambler was "Status-driven." Paddock was known to play video poker and gamble large sums of money on the machines, and played at several properties on the Las Vegas Strip as well as at casinos in Mesquite and Reno. Rouse didn't address the state of Paddock's finances at the time he settled into his room on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel and began firing into the crowd at the concert across the street.
Vegas shooting death toll rises to 59, no apparent connection to international terror

At least 59 people were killed and 527 injured in Las Vegas Sunday night when a gunman opened fire on a music festival crowd from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in what is now the deadliest shooting in modern U.S. history. No on-duty emergency response personnel were injured, Cassell said.23 firearms were found in shooter's hotel suite Authorities said the suspected gunman - 64-year-old Mesquite, Nevada resident Stephen Paddock - checked into the Mandalay Bay hotel Thursday and brought the numerous firearms found in his room himself. In the wake of the shooting, the Las Vegas Police Department said authorities responded to a room on the 32nd floor of the hotel, where Paddock was found dead. Police said they believe Paddock killed himself prior to police entry. Officials said Monday morning they have found no connection between the shooting and any international terrorist group. Politicians react to the deadliest mass shooting in American history President Donald Trump addressed the public this morning, calling the shooting "an act of pure evil. U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement, "The investigation into the horrific shooting last night in Las Vegas is ongoing.
In Las Vegas, the casino is always watching — and yet it missed Stephen Paddock (LA Times) 12 Oct 2017
http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-vegas-shooting-casino-security-20171012-story.html If the casino is always watching, how did it miss Stephen Paddock? Why didn’t hotel security notice Paddock bringing in at least 10 suitcases filled with guns? (Oct. 12, 2017) by Matt Pearce, Jaweed Kaleem , Melissa Etehad and Richard WintonContact Reporters The casino hotels on the Las Vegas Strip, with all their glitzy delights, aren’t just palaces of distraction. They’re miniature surveillance states. A typical facility might be armed with thousands of cameras, which watch gamblers as they enter, while they play and when they leave. The footage is stored as potential evidence and monitored by internal security forces who are prepared to dispatch a response within moments in case of problems. “In Vegas, everybody’s gotta watch everybody else,” Robert De Niro said in the 1995 drama “Casino.” Dealers watch the players, pit bosses watch the people watching the dealers, and the “eye in the sky” — the camera — watches over all. The thought of beating that eye in the sky has inspired a generation of glam heist movies, starting with “Ocean’s 11.” But now, questions are mounting over a very different type of crime than the grifting and grabbing scams Vegas has always been obsessed with — the mass shooting mounted on Oct. 1 from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. It turns out, one place the casino’s cameras don’t have eyes is the network of hallways inside the Mandalay Bay hotel. That’s where gunman Stephen Paddock, 64, of Mesquite, Nev., shot a Mandalay Bay security guard, Jesus Campos, at 9:59 p.m., about six minutes before Paddock started firing at a crowd of thousands of concertgoers gathered below, an attack that killed 58 people and injured nearly 500 others. New disclosure shows a casino guard alerted hotel to gunman before Vegas massacre began. So why did it take so long to stop him? As precious minutes ticked by, and Paddock turned his attention to aiming a barrage of rapid-pace gunfire at the crowd, it was not until 10:17 p.m. that police were able to pinpoint Paddock’s location and arrive on the floor where he mounted the attack. But they were too late. The damage had been done. For reasons that remain unknown, Paddock had already stopped his attack. Where was hotel security? Both the police and hotel management have declined to answer questions about whether the hotel informed police that the security guard had been shot. And representatives of the victims are already asking questions. “Get your iPhone, put it on the timer,” said Chad Pinkerton, a Houston-based lawyer representing a 21-year-old shooting victim in the first of what are expected to be many lawsuits. “Run six minutes. See how long it is. I've done it. It's a long time.” For much of the 20th century, casino security was visible and personal. Guards walked on catwalks overlooking the playing tables and the gamblers, keeping their eyes on the tremendous amount of cash and chips flowing through the business on a daily basis — a rich target, literally. “Back in the day, security was armed,” said George Joseph, president of World Casino Consulting and a former director of surveillance at Bally’s. “Now they have less personnel who are carrying firearms, simply because of the liability issues. In the day, we would chase somebody down…. Now, you’re worried if he starts running and knocks over a customer, a little old lady playing a slot machine, you’re liable.” Today, casino heists are rare, but not unheard of. In 2010, a thief at the Bellagio swiped $1.5 million in casino chips, including $25,000 chips known as “cranberries,” and sped off on a motorcycle. In March, a group of well-dressed men in masks mounted a smash-and-grab robbery at the Bellagio's high-end jewelry store, leading to a massive armed response by Vegas police. Guests rushed outside amid fears of an active shooter. Casinos have spent decades perfecting their security against such events. Casinos like Mandalay Bay “spend millions and millions of dollars on security,” said a surveillance expert who helped install an early version of Mandalay Bay's security systems after it opened in the 1990s. The system he installed had close to 1,200 cameras, and he guesses Mandalay Bay has about 3,000 cameras now. “They’re all recording 24/7. Anybody who walks through that door is an asset. They’re going to take care of their assets,” said the expert, who declined to be identified because of concerns of future litigation. But hallways can be difficult for security cameras to capture — they might be too long or too dark to show what's actually happening — so hotels instead put cameras on bottlenecks like elevator banks. “Typically they want to see who’s coming onto the floor and off the floor, and they can tell now who goes into rooms with the keycards,” the expert said. The biggest threat to the casinos’ operations today, the one security personnel are trained to be watchful for, appears to be personal-injury lawsuits. In 10 years at Bally’s, “we saved more money on liability claims than we ever did on table game cheating,” said Joseph, noting that casino footage became an important way to fight personal-injury lawsuits inside the building. One of the public’s few windows into Paddock’s history in casinos comes from a slip-and-fall lawsuit that Paddock filed against the Cosmopolitan Hotel in 2012. And yes, there was video of Paddock’s fall. Paddock lost the lawsuit in arbitration largely because the footage showed other customers passing the area without any problems. The house, and its surveillance system, won. Yet while Paddock’s extensive time in Las Vegas as an avid gambler — which would make him probably one of the most visually surveilled people on Earth — has given investigators a massive amount of evidence to sort through, little of it has apparently been fruitful in helping establish a motive. Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said investigators had compiled 200 “instances” of Paddock moving around Las Vegas before the attack, but he was always alone. Some critics have also wondered why hotel security did not notice Paddock bringing in at least 10 suitcases filled with guns into his hotel suite. “It will be very important to look at the training for the security guards in the hotel who were there in the five days before,” said Mo Aziz, another attorney representing a California victim, Paige Gasper. Before Paddock’s shooting rampage began at 10:05 p.m., Campos radioed and called security on a hotel phone about a gunman in the building, Clark County Assistant Sheriff Tom Roberts said this week. Officers were already in the building on a different call. Yet as Paddock rained bullets down on the crowd for 10 minutes, police audio dispatches revealed widespread confusion among officers at the scene, who had not received Campos’ alert and were urgently trying to figure out where the gunfire was coming from. The officers who did zero in on Mandalay Bay did not immediately know where Paddock was, and had begun their search on the floor below him. “I’m inside the Mandalay Bay on the 31st floor,” one officer radioed about 10:14 p.m. “I can hear the automatic fire coming from one floor ahead. One floor above us.” According to police, the first officers arrived on the 32nd floor at 10:17 p.m. — two minutes after Paddock had stopped firing. Campos was there waiting for them. “They weren’t aware of him being shot until they met him in the hallway after exiting the elevator,” Lombardo said Monday. Roberts also revealed this week that the hotel had dispatched its own armed security team, which arrived on the 32nd floor about the same time as police. The lack of cameras in the hallway has made it difficult to nail down a precise timeline of events, and investigators promised an updated timeline on Friday. Experts on security say the normal protocol for casinos is to call police immediately for help when an armed threat presents itself. “Casinos call 911 like everyone else,” said C. David Shepherd, a former FBI special agent who spent seven years as executive director of security for the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino. While the casinos have armed security, “they are not protected and trained to take on a barricaded suspect. It takes a special trained team of police officers.” William Sousa, a criminal justice professor at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, said police were called in for a wide range of crimes. “You'll see a lot of coordination between the private security forces and police, and the Strip properties frequently meet among themselves to coordinate among their security directors,” Sousa said. But while security is high, “There is also a level of inconsistency among the different properties,” he said. “There is a fair amount of discretion for the hotels.” A former armed security guard at Mandalay Bay expressed confusion over why it took hotel officials and police so long to stop the gunman. When he worked at the hotel and casino in the early 2000s, he said, all radio calls went through “control,” which is also called dispatch. There were at all times at least three people in the control office: one dispatcher who reports to other units, one dispatcher who watches cameras and a third in charge of calling police when necessary. “If [Campos] did things the way you’re trained, you report to control [dispatch] through your daily issued radio, then dispatch makes the call to the authorities, only because they’re in a safe place in the basements,” said the former guard, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not allowed to discuss security issues. He added: “In a shooting situation you would first seek shelter, and call for help, meaning you radio the security office, who then types the type of incident, time of incident, and another person calls authorities and gives as much information as possible.” Hotel security, he said, is supposed to provide the first response, attempting to contain the scene, and possibly evacuate other possible victims if not the whole floor. An alarm system is in place, he said, to inform guests if they need to evacuate. Training to become a security officer at the hotel took him about one month, and the emphasis, he said, was on avoiding liability. “Their No. 1 problem is lawsuits; they said most people sue just because they’re mad or had a bad experience, so never admit guilt, and always try to comfort the complaining guests.” http://www.latimes.com/nation/la-na-vegas-shooting-casino-security-20171012-story.html
